This session saw the Trial of Garth the Goliath, with Ahriman the Osyluth as his primary council, followed by Titus Brightsteel. The prosecution led by Councilor Toril first testified to their knowledge then began questioning Garth. During this trial, it was revealed by Anchor that much of the audience that had gathered were in fact Devils. These creatures, as well as the disguised Sir Steliad, were ushered out of the courtroom by Seth, Samuel the Yuan-ti's Couatl companion.
The trial continued, as Garth took the stand. Garth, though he plead not guilty to the counts of The Worship of a Betrayer God, The Attempted Murder of Concilor Toril, and Treason Against Belseria, admitted to maliciously attempting to end Toril's life in the crumbling demi-plane of Tesserin the Lich King.
Garth, bound in chains from Avernus, was led out to his execution. The devils driven out of the courtroom were interspersed throughout the crowd of Belserian citizens and foreign onlookers. As Garth was led to his station, he took one last look at his kingdom, as he lowered his head onto the table and Anchor stood tall above him. As Anchor smashed his new axe towards Garth's neck, Garth's eyes flared red as he and Mada heard "Garth never dies". The axe made contact, and out of the crystals embedded in Garth's chains, 5 ancient chromatic dragons were released.
The assembled devils flew to the newly spawned dragons, which tore through hundreds of onlookers before destroying entirely the temple of Bahamut and many of the civilian homes and businesses within Beryl. One, the black dragon Sereac, remained to destroy the Obsidian Fisticators. Specifically targeting Anchor for his leadership position as well as martial capabilities, Sereac lifted threw with immense force the Warforged Paladin to the ground. Smashed to the ground, his Axe of Lawful Retribution, transformed with the gravity of his execution of Garth, vanished with a faint popping noise. The rest of the party sped towards Anchor, and activated an emergency Tiny Hut item, as hordes of Abishai flooded out of the ruins of the once great Belserian Palace, through Gate opened by Steliad. The party, attuning to Garth's Helm of Teleportation, transported to Orion's homeland Lotsudolind, where they saw the stars above turned red.
This session saw the departure of Steven, as well as the soulbinding of his character Anchor to the Axe of Lawful Retribution. Steven's role in forming the adventuring party from a Star Wars One Shot group to the Obsidian Fisticators cannot be overstated, and we wish him well in his new endeavors. This session also saw the introduction of Owen's new permanent character Lazarus, from Nicop Noreh.
