Reeling from the sacking of Beryl, the party struggles with what to do next. Consulting with Birdla Anqym, the leader of Orion's tribe in Lotsudolind, they realized the significance of the stars turning a violent crimson. Mada learned of a prophecy involving the Zealothanons, and learned that he himself was one of them. The party decided that after resting the night, they would travel to the Eye of Annam to defend the White Obelisk and raise an army of Xantion giants by meeting with the Quintessent. That night, Mada found himself in a dreamscape alongside Quoli and many other halflings, half of which seemed as confused as he was. At that point, Zealothanon Brakaros called for his progeny to join him beyond the Veil of the Dreamwalkers.Â
In the morning, the party agreed to split, Rorric rejoining his one time allies in the Mother's Wardens, accompanying Mada to the Emberwood while the remainder of the party sought to meet with Grillack the Forebearer, a Cloud Giant trading in information exchange between Lotsudolind and Xantion. Through Grillack's influence, the party was able to arrange a meeting with the Quintessent of Xantion. Though Samuel in particular was close to blows with the Forebearer as well as a hill giant that attempted to strongarm the party climbing the mountain to the palace, they reached the palace in peace. They were led into a massive greeting hall until the Quintessent called them into his throne room.
Meanwhile, Mada and Rorric journeyed deep into the Emberwood, where they met with Quenn of the Mother's Wardens, who agreed to show Mada to the Veil of the Dreamwalkers on the condition that he could accompany him in disguise to whatever meeting was to take place. As the pair ventured through the shimmering Veil of the Dreamwalkers, they found themselves in the sickly sweet and vibrant Feywild.
