Captain Bladeback is an old, slow-moving and slow-talking Tortle. His skin is a light pastel green, deeply cracked, and his shell is a dark muddy green color. The back of his shell is painted with the insignia of the local Naval forces. Running around the edge of his shell is a thin, occasionally chipped slit. His voice can best be described as deep and briny. A heavy smoker, he can most often be found enjoying a pipe along the heavily traveled pier outside his home, where he sits telling his old war stories to anyone willing to sit with him. If asked, he's more than willing to take anyone out on the sea for a coin or two. His boat is relatively small holding 5 medium creatures at the most. While on the water, the Captain sits on a specially shaped chair that contours to his shell. On his left is the rudder, held firm by his steady clawed hand, and on his right is a set of tubes. One holds his musket (I personally prefer the Exandria gun system), one holds his rapier, and the shortest holds some ammunition and a small mirror he uses to check behind himself without getting up from his chair. He is a lonely old veteran, at peace with what he's been able to do with his life but yearning to teach whoever he can what little bit he knows about the world. If the Captain is in combat, he is not so prideful as to fight to the end. His priority will be making sure whoever he's with is safe and that he himself can make a quick escape. He's fairly beefy, so if you think that he's too durable, just cut the hit points down by half. His proficiency in history isn't to say he's a well read Tortle, he just has a long memory and can recall many of the past adventures he had in the Navy.
